Guests heading to YMCA of the Rockies Snow Mountain Ranch this winter have a new way to thaw out after time on the trails. Parked near the Nordic Center, Cedar Sauna House is bringing a mobile, wood-fired sauna experience to the ranch for its very first season.
Founded by local owner Joe Timm, the sauna blends Nordic wellness traditions with a welcoming, social vibe. The cedar-lined space comfortably fits up to 20 guests and is powered by an impressive 800-pound stone stove, heating the room to a toasty 160–175°F (and even hotter for those who like it extra steamy).
“It’s the perfect reset—whether you’ve been skiing all day or just want to warm up and connect,” says Timm.
Guests can book 75-minute sessions that include access to changing rooms, a warming hut, and complimentary towels. Walk-ins are welcome when space allows, but reservations are encouraged at www.cedarsaunahouse.com.
Pricing starts at $25 for Grand County locals and $40 for general admission, with punch passes and $100 unlimited monthly memberships also available.
Looking for something more private? Cedar Sauna House offers group rentals for up to 30 people, complete with exclusive access, hot beverages, and all the cozy winter vibes. Private bookings start at $200 per hour with a two-hour minimum—great for ski teams, celebrations, or a unique winter gathering.
Inspired by his Midwest roots and love of mountain winters, Timm created Cedar Sauna House as a place to slow down and reconnect. Phones aren’t allowed inside, encouraging guests to unplug, be present, and enjoy the simple ritual of heat, snow, and shared space.
The sauna is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6–8 p.m., with extended hours during holiday weeks. Guests ages 12 and up are welcome, with waivers required at booking. The season aligns with the Nordic Center’s operating schedule.
